Good to know

Questions phlebotomists ask, answered.

How am I paid, and how often?+
Every appointment carries a visit fee plus round-trip travel. You invoice us on a regular cycle and we pay on a clear, scheduled timeline. Specific rates are shared during onboarding and are competitive with the market.
Am I employed or self-employed?+
All phlebotomists on the network are self-employed. You set your own availability, accept the jobs that suit your diary, and manage your own tax. We provide the work — you run your own practice.
Do I need my own kit?+
No. We supply vacutainers, needles, sample bags, sharps containers and courier labels. Most kit is sent ahead to either you or the client, depending on the appointment type. You only need your standard PPE and personal tools.
How do I receive job offers?+
Through our GoHighLevel platform. When a client books a visit in your registered postcode area, you'll be notified and can accept or decline based on your availability. No fixed shifts, no minimums.
What qualifications do I need?+
A recognised phlebotomy qualification with documented venepuncture experience. NHS phlebotomists, qualified HCAs, nurses and paramedics with venepuncture training are all welcome to apply. Recent practice is essential.
Do I need insurance and a DBS?+
Yes. Current professional indemnity and public liability insurance, plus a valid Enhanced DBS check (or equivalent in Scotland and Northern Ireland), are required before you can take on visits.
How quickly can I start?+
From application to your first job offer is typically 7–14 days, assuming your documents are in order. The bottleneck is usually verification — once that's cleared, onboarding is fast.
Can I do this alongside an NHS or clinic role?+
Yes — many of our phlebotomists do exactly that. Evening, weekend and flexible weekday slots are common. Just be mindful of your employer's policies on outside work.
